BOROUGH WORKS.
The following recommendations of the Works Committee were adopted it last "meeting :—l.: — 1. That' in the 3yent of the Railway Department giving the earth and filling, the trucks fr>e of cost for ,the. filling of Moles-
vyorth- street- East the Council provide I. man; and ahorse 1 for. shifting the sarth at a cost not exceeding £25,. <2i That Mr, Kelly be. granted a oneitich water- Service to b,is property in 3uller-street. ,,3., That -Mr' J. C. 3eorge's application for repairs to footpath in Devon-street West be referred to the favourable consideration of the next year's Estimates
Committee. 4. That "the Foreman ■>$ authorised to r.epair the asphalt footpaths and; to re-tar the tarred footpaths where necessary. 5. That the following" additions to the waterworks already completed be charged to waterworks loan: — Eg-mont-street, labour, ; new ma•ariat,..^7l; Hobson, Liardet, Johnstreets, and . Eliot-road, labour, ,^"l3 ; new material,. £2o. ,6. That the following new wbifks te proceeded with : — Young-street, labour, ; 4in. pipes in stock; Vogfltown, labour, ,£"46; 4in. pipes in stock, Fitzroy, labour, ; 4in. pipes in stock, £15. 7. That Mr Bates be informed that if he builds on the site mentioned in his application the walls riiust be in brick, but if the building is erected 30 feet from the present building the outside walls may be of' iron. 11.1 1 . • •
