Messrs Jenkins, Matthew*, and ' Pigott report >— At Urenui, on Monday, we had a very big muster of all classes of ' cattle. * Every' pen and all traces and outside yards were occupied. Bidding started away with a rush »Jid kept the auctioneer busy right up to the tinisli. 'Judging from the" competition, we are satisfied lhat better prices will be available in the near » future. We quote : — Calves 16/6, yearlings 16/6 to 25/, 38-months heifers 32/8, 18-mbnths mixed 37/6 to 45/, ' store cows 26/6 to 52/G, springing heifers 1 7/ti fco £6, ditto cows 49/ to £5, 23,-year steers 53/ to 62/6,, fat cows £4 19/, dairy cows 46/ to £5 10/, bull 55/; hack 27/6. At Waitara, on Tuesday, we had! a small -entry, but -everything sold. Calves made 7/6 to 18// 18-months , heifers 35/6, store cows, 27/ to 38/, fat cpws £3 15/, springing cows £3 S/6 to £4 2/, ditto heifers^ £3 to £3 8/6, horse .-618, wethers 22/. We had a goodly number of buyers at Jfr J. Say well's clearing sale. Bidding was keen from the start right up to the conclusion of sale. The agricultural implements \niade good prices and % the dairy cows (a fine lot) realised'an average of £7 2/6.
