Under the new management quite a transformation, scene has' been witnessed at the Orosvenor (late Commonwealth) Hotel, and Mr T. Nicholas, the ne\v proprietor, is working.it up into' one of^/the.' best commercial and tourist houses in town. The builders and painters -have just completed renof vations throughout, the whole adding greatly to the appearance, convenience and .comfort of the hostelry. Mr Nicholas is Mown in th© district), as he successfully' conducted the Egmont Hotel, Hawera,^ for some years. Ttiis, augurs well for the future management of the Grosvenor, and on looking over the premises a Herald representative saw that an excellent start had been , made. The dining has been rehabilitated and the culinary ar-i ir-angeme&ts are up-to<liatei in every respect/^ Conveniently situated, with a nice sea view, the 'hotel affords just the 'accommodation I ' at a moderate figure that commercials, tourists, and the general public require. Two sitting-rooms- upstairs are lavishly fuxnisli'&l, provided with a piano, and comfortable, and the double andisingle bedrooms would hold their own anywhere. 'Hot 'and cold water 'baths are well appointed. DowtastaSrs thtere is a 1 commex'oial room of large dimensions, provided with all requisites 1 and the latest papers. The circular bar, conveniently dividied into compartments and snuggeries, is •admir<a lbily kept, and Mr Nichola® is too experienced *in the hotel business to keep any but the. best , liquors. Tbe hotel will certainly make "a'bold! bid for popularity.
