Ingilewooid A. and B. played a drawn game on Thursday, last, | one goal each.

A little difference of opinion was expressed as to tho referee's ruling- in last Thursday's match on the Racecourse ground, on stopping the ball, and as no Keferecs' Association exists in Taranaki we publish (by request) the readings decided on at a) recent meeting of the Christchurch Referees' Association : — "The same reading of the rule to be applied to stopping the ball with the pads as when the hall is .stored with the hand. In both cases the ball must be stopped dead at the place where it comes in contact with a player." (The English ruling on this point is that the ball must not be picked up, carried, kicked, thrown or knocked on or back, except with the stick.)
