ADDINGTON STOCK SALES. Christchurch, (May 24. Store sbeep.— 76 at 18s 4d, 181 at 17s 6d, 104 at 171s 4d, 20S at 10s lkl, 145 at 16s od, 136 aib 16s 3d, 53 at 16s 3d, 5S hoggets- made 13s Sd, 94 sold at 12s lOd. A few small lot of aged merino ewes at 3s lOd to 7s 7d. Fat lambs. — The range of prices for prime lambs and tegs was 17s Gd to 2ls, and lighter Us 9cl to 17s. Fat sheep.' — Handy weight ewes ranged from 14s 4d to 17s 6d. Aged and inferior sorts \ were oiegjlected and brought lower prices than of late. Holmes' 12 steels sold at £9 to £10 12s fid and other steers maide £fi to £10 ; hoifers £5 5s to £S 10s, arid cows £1 15s to £6 15s. eqiual to 20s to 21s for prime and 16s to 19s 'per 1001 b for inferior to modfum quality. A good yarding of veal calves sold at Ss to £2 4s. MESSRS BUCKLAND AND SONS' REPORT. Messrs Buokland and Sons report : Horses were brought forward at the market in increased numbers. Worn draughts were dull of sale. Young waggon and express horses from £32 to £36 10s, buggy horses and good hacks £17 to £23, light harness and ordinary hacks £6 to £21, weeds and ponies at all prices. Hides, skins, tallow, etc. — Hides : Ox 4Ad to 7£d, cow 4.M to 4*d, lip 4^d to 4|d, calf s£d|to 53d, stags 3£d to 3£d, tails Is 6d per do7en, horsehair Is 7|d to Is 9^d, tallow 14s to 19s, bones ss. Skins were in strong demand. Best butchers' 3s lOd io 5s 7d, smaller 2s 4d to 3s 7d, damaged Is to 2s Id. Grain, etc. — Maize supplies were sufficient for requirements, and sold at 3s ex wharf to 3s 3d ex store. Oats : Inferior 2s, B. grade 2s 2d to 'is 4d. Fowl wheat 3s 6d, bran £4 10s, chaff £4 15s (ex rail) to £5 5s (ex store), straw £3 ss. Pressed hay, in full supply, brought £3 to £4. Cattle.— At Remuera, dairy cows, in usual numbers, were from £5 to £8 15s, dry cows and heifers 30s to 60s. Fat and young calves were better worth, small selling to Bs, medium to 18s, heavy to 565. An average yarding of "fat cattle fully kept recent quotations. In some cases prices improved. Steers ranged from £5 10s to £11 2s "6d, co\#s £4 10s to £8 10s (253 sold). Sheep, in moderate numbers, were required, best wethers reaching 27s 3d, lighter weights to 19s Gd, heavy ewes 18s to 22s 6d, others to 17s. Lambs 10s 6d to 15s 6d.
