A SALARY FOR LEADER OF TfllU
OPPOSITION.

The Farmer.-' Union Conference passed a resolution, on the casting vote of the chairman, "That the Loader of the Opposition be granted a salary etjjual to that of members of tho Cabinet."
A meeting of the branch was hold in the schoolroom, Carringtou Road on Monday evening last. Thee was a Aery fair attendance, and a considerable amount of business was gone through. A circular letter from the Provincial President (Mr Boddie) to the: branches was much appreciated. The subscription for iho ensuing year was fixed at -5s per member with a small additional levy to place the branch, on a better footing.
Mr W. B. Davies was appointed on extra witness for the "Land Commission." At $he close of the meeting the coffers of the Tr-n-ury were somospoke strongly at the meeting io rewhat replenished.
