actually resulted in a considerable saving. He concluded by saying that in the case of private Jjonsions the . Judges had ample means of protecting themselves from attacks or interference in the discharge o£ their duties, tout in the case of the Executive Government their only protection lay in publicity. v"We did not," he said, "resort to these means until the position h/ecame intolerable."
