A crowded and enthusiastic meating was iiield imdor tho auspices of tho Bibloin-Schools League. Addivsbc^ in favour of the objects of tho League were dclivorcd by the Anglican Bishop of Auckland (Dr. Neligan), the Lion. E. Mitchdson and others 1 . l\e■olutions wci'o carried in favour of a Biblo-in-Schools referendum, and generally approving of the League's policy. It was also resolved that candidates for Parliament be questioned as to their views on the referendum.
