A woman named Mary JMeKnig'ht has confessed to poisoning* her brother, and her brother's , wile arid child at Kalkasiham in Mchiyan.. She is also charged with murdering .her two successive husbands and six other relatives anid friends. Adjustment of Accounts. + :^ BETWEEN TARANAKI COUNTY AND INGLEWOOD BOROUGH. A meeting of representatives was held on Thursday at the Taranaki County Council offices for the purpose of adjusting accounts between the County and Inglewood Borough. Messrs Okey (Chairman), Gray and Brown represented 'the County, and Messrs Nicholls (Mayor), Bennett and Frank Brown acted for the Borough. The following are the bridges on the boundary 1 ne of the two districts :—: — Karapiti 011 Junction Road East Waiongona. on Junction Koad West Karapiti on Mountain Road. The following agreement was 'arrived at :— (1) That the adjustment of accounts be made in terms of "The Counties Act, 1886/' and on a valuation ba»it. (2) That the combined Committees fix the amount payable by the Inglewood Borough to the Taranaki County, ,as share of liabilities over assets ' «.nd share of hospital and charitable aid contribution for year end ng 31st March, 1904, amounts to £145 ; and recommendthat such amount (£145) be payable by the Inglewood Borough to the Taranaki County in settlement. (3) That the boundary bridges, as above named, be under control . of the Taranaki County, Inglewood Borough to'- contribute . one-half share of maintenance, repairs, and re-erection of such bridges as may be needed in future, from, date of separation^ ', (4) That bank rate of interest be allowed the Taranaki County ,on amount payable by the Inglewood Borough from date thereof tp time of payment.
