The Boers express gratitude for this recognition.. ', r Dingaan was a' Zulu 1 chief, who murdered 79 Boer trekkers in Natal, to whom he sold land when -they trdkked out of Cape* Colony in cohsg--quence of the emancipation of slaves Iby Britain. The Boers defeated him j later on in a sanguinary battle which they ever after commemorated as Dingaan's Day. They erected a monument at Paardekraal at which Boers from all parts collected every year and held rifle matches.
