MOUNTED RIFLES CAMP.
A^OTHEK-WiT DAY.
Owing to the continuance of the lain Lieutenant. Fairhall, officer of tho day, superintended the transference of the men's baggage," elc, from t£e tents to the grandstand this (Tuesday) mornings the Jockey Club having family granted its use. By midday the wet and sodden canvas was '.eserled, except the mess tents, and tne men expect to pass this night free irom the disturbing intrusioas of water irom above and below. In dpite of the many dispoinlortsi everyone is in good spirits, anU more than one ludicrous incident occurred during the morning. The sipht of fine stalwart soldiers of the Kimr, c lad in a waterproof, and— well, his natural beauty— staggering along under a load of camp nn'pedimenta would have been too much for the sternest old General's composure.
Hopes are expressed that the wea~, th«r will goon hold up, so that the interrupted work can be gone on with. The iinal competition for the Tatmion Challenge Shield, firctl on Thursday and Saturday last, resulted as follows •<— . .
