And yet in 1903 battles are waging in nearly half dozen coun- j tries and war is abroad upon every continent. I

The average l-eader, if asked to name the wars in progress, would very likely stop uncertainly after mentioning the struggle between Britain and natives in Somaliland. But this is not the only war of the day by any means. Here is a little list of the places whereat battles have been going on, either now or recently, with the names of the opposing forces :— Venezuela. Hayti— Three revolutions.
