At the Haymarket on Saturday horses sold from £3 15/ to £9. At the Mart fowls made 9d to 1/4, ducks 1/5 to 1/10, tuckeys 3/6. A number of pictures sold at' low
prices. - - • ','.'' Fruit.— ls in large supply. Apples 2/ to 4/, plums 3/ to 6/, apricots 3/6 to 6/6, peaches 5/ to 8/, pears, 3/ to 6/6, tomatoes 2/6 to 4/6, grapes 9d to lOd, bananas Id tol^d. Cattle.— At Waiwakaiho on Tuesday there was a moderate yarding of stock ; bidding for most lines "was fairly brisk, and nearly everything sold at ruling rates. Weanersr made 20/ to 26/, good calves 32/, yearling steers 40/ to' 53/, heifers 49/, 2 to 2* year steers £3 5/ to £3 17/, 8 year bullocks £5 6/, store cows £3-15/ to £4, fat cows £5 5/ to £6 7/, bulls £2 10/ to £3.
