(FROM OUB RESIDENT AGENT.) May 27.— Our local rulers have decided to celebrate the Coronation in a practical sensible manner, not with the burning of gunpowder and roattiog of oxen, but by erecting a permanent memorial in the shape of a drinking fountain, band rotunda and firebell tower combined. Whether the genius is yet born who can design a structure f nlfilling these diverse purposes and yet not giving offence to the aesthetic eyes, is another matter. It is also intended to plant a grove on the riverbank in the Hamlet-street Doma'n snd call it King Edward's Grove. The Domain itself will probably be rechristened King's Park. A new fiymnastic Club first saw the light on Friday. They come and go. do good service for a while, and then die of neglect. The Stratford Hospital Fund is the richer by £6, the nett monetary result of a concert and dance held at Cardiff on Friday, undfr the auspices of the Farmers' Union. The first of a series of popular concerts to be held in our Town Hall, with ihe same laudable object, is announced for Friday, 30th.
