May 2. — Tho hospital ball and openof the new town hall last night can only be described as brilliant. The floor was thronged with dancers, many in fanry costumes, and fbe gallery and stage with spectators. Perm, who has" recently retired from the town clerkship, after 10 years' service, with a beautifully illuminated testimonial in a handsome frame.
