Messrs Bewley & Griffiths report : There has' been the usual volume of business during the past week, InBurance shares continue to be much sought after for investment. Bank of New Zealand have receded, being now jpffered at £'3. The* dredging market has, been considerably more active, a large number of stocks being dea.t in. The Molyneux river is now getting to a low and the indications point to an exceptionally low river this winter. Notwithstanding the imimproved prospects the market does nor show the tendency to advance that might have been expected, but the largely increased amount of gold that is being obtained must favourably affect the market shortly. During February 14 companies paid £7000 in dividends. In March 10 companies returned £6,300. but we anticipate that for April this amount will be largely exceeded..
