TiOndon, May 2. — In the House of Commons Mr Balfour announced that the Government had received unofficial information in reference to the constitution of the shipping combine. The Admiralty's mercantile cruisers were safe for three years, and possibly then would not be transferred. The Government in the interval will arrange an adequate scheme for the protection of maritime commerce. The aspects of the combination involved difficult and complicated issues, requiring careful consideration.
