Received April 5, 12.43 p.m. Melbourne, April 5. — The Age says, with more or less authority, 1 bat it is stated that Tasmania having been' deprived of the. pecuniary benefits from •' Tattersall's," a proposal is afoot for the Tasmania^ Government to take over the whole of Adanrs' business as a going * concern^ aod conduct it as Tasmanian Government lotteries. The fpaper adds that Mr Deakia has been considering the matter, but is unable to give an opinion off hand, bub he considers if a department of lotteries was properly constituted the Postmaster-General could not refuse to forward letters.
