ME, NEWTON KINO'S WEEKLY. AUCTION REPORT.
At the Haymarket on Saturday a good number, of pigs were sold, weaners made 3s to 7s 6d, good slips 8s to 10s, small stores £>1. several horses sold at from £3 2s 6d to £7 10s. Ponies £1 5s to £3 15s. At the Mart fowls made 6d to Is 3d, ducks Is to Is sd. Furniture and fancy goods sold at low prices. Cattle.—At Waiwakaiho on Tuesday bidding was quiet and prices shewed little or no alteration on the previous fortnight. Weaners made 21s to 24s 6d, good calves 31s, 2year steers £3 14s 6d store cows £2 2s to £3 10s, springing heifers £4 7s Gel to £4 15s. At Kent Road an Thursday I held a clearing sale on account of Messrs Matthews Bros. The cows were a good lot, and all sold at satisfactory prices. Early calvers made £5 10s to £7 12s 6d, late calvers £4 10s to £6, old cows £2 10s to £3 ss, half Jersey heifers in calf £4 19s, calves 28s to 31s, implements and sundries made fair prices.
