i • [PER PREB& ABBOOIATION.I Palmerston North, April 4. — This morning a Rongotea settler, named H. P. Thompson, was found dead on the road near the State school. He was last soon alive on Thursday night w'heti going to an entertainment in the township. Deceased was 50 years of age, and leaves a widow and family. Heart disease is believed to be tbe cause of death. Christcburch, April 5.—-Tbe inquiry into the death of the woman, Gurdler, resulted in a verdict that death was due to hemorrago of the brain. The doctor stated she bad evidently had a miscarriage. %
