Sir,— l see that Mr Bell in his report* re Harbour extension says it would be necessary to quarry Paritutu hill in th« , event of certain contingencies arising. \nd also that it would have to be pro spected to see wbat kind of stone it con : tamed. Now, as I worked in (he tunnel driven into the heart of the hill about 25, years ago from start to finish, lam in *\ position to state exaotly what kind of stone it really does contain, and *b»H be . only too 'happy^ X 6 Supply any infortiJfc • tion that will be of , benefit to the coin inanity.
