Charles Arnold Season.
» " WHAT HAPPENED TO JONES." TO NIGHT AT THEATRE ROYAL The things which happened to Jones and Why Smith Left Home will be explained to-night and to morrow at the Theatre Royal by Mr Charles Arnold and his company of London comedians, who arrived this morning by the Mapourika from Wellington, where they have j just terminated a brilliantly successful engagement. What Happened to Jones and Why Smith Left Home are the funniest farce comedies that have ever been witnessed in New Zealand, and the fun is absolutely pure, its complete wholesomeness commending it to the house-father, who can safely take his faraily to see them. Mr Arnold is one of the most popular actors that has ever visited New Plymouth, and his previous productions have left pleasant memories of merry enjoyable evenings, and the theatre is -uire to be crowded to the doors to-night to welcome back the popular actormanager to our midst. Procrastinatory playgoers who have not yet secured their will be wise in paying an early visit to the box office (Mr Gilmour's), and intending patrons are notified that the performance commences punctually at 8.
