United Sunday Schools.
At a meeting of the officers and teachers held last evening the following resolu tion was passed unanimously. "Tbat this meeting of the United Sunday Schools, New Plymouth, ,desires to express its sense of the irreparable loss sustained by the nation in the death of Queen Victoria, and at the same time its gratitude to Almighty God for her long reign, with its numberless benoficient influences and its marked progress in the direction of humanity's weal." It was also decided that as a token of esteem for Her Majesty, and as an expression of loyalty, the picnic for the present year be abandoned, the teachers believing tbat the scholars would cheerfully endorse this action.
