[PEB PUES3 ASSOCIATION^ RETIREMENT OP RAILWAY OFFICIAL. Wellington, April 6. Mr T. Rotherham, locomotive superintendent of the Government Railways, Avho has been in tho sendee over 20 years, has resigned to take up a similar position in one of the neighbouring colonies. In relation to the gold discovery near the Central Buller district, the correspondent Avires :—": — " The gold discovery at Rappahannock is confined to a small gully. There is no scope for more men than are at present on the ground." The preA'ious telegram reported that the prospect Avas a pennyweight to the dish.
