f i;?, — Will you kindly permit space for a few remarks in reference to Captain Hood's report to tli9 Harbour Board re Oreti. The right the damige was done to tho ship I could not be consulted about berthing at all, as tbe sli i was at sea; iha lights were up for rue to go on the wobt sile of the wlnrf, aad of course I went tfcore. Giptain Hood afterwards remarked that ho was sorry hs did not berth me on the other *iie. Of course his was after the d.imige was done, and be also said we were the first vessel he bad berthed oa the west side, and that ha tt'ould know better next time. The night I took tha risk* of laying there myself we laid q'lietly at the wlnrf, and no'damage was uone. My reasou for wishing you to insert this ia to let tho public end mem\ bers of the Board know tho exact truth, as I have no other means of doing so. Thanking you in anticipatioii. — I ara, &c, N.
