Received July 10, 9.25 a.m. London, July 9. — The British imports for June showed a decrease in value of £683.000 m compared with Jnne last year, while the exports increased £2,566.000, including represented by new ship?. The American visible wheat supply is estimated at 48,545.000 bushels. At the rabbit skin sales large snpplies were offered, and all sold; prices are mostly nnchanged. Frozen mutton : Crossbred wethers and maiden ewes, Canterbury, 4Jd; Dunedin and Southland, 3Jd ; North Island, 3d Lamb : Prime Canterbury, 5 9-16 d ; fair average including Dunedin, Southland, 'Wellingtoa, aud secondary Canterbnry, 5 5-16 d. Kiver Plate mutton is unchanged. At the wool sales bidJing was animated, and the market is very firm. Low cross Dreds are improving. To date at the present series, 140,959 bales have been catalogued, and 139,709 sold.

Messrs G.Falkner & Co. announce that they have taken over the seed, grain, and general merchant's business lately carried on by Mr H. W. Davy. The cot diiion of Gover-street, where the Borough workmen have lately been employed, may be gauged from the fact that this (Monday) morning a milch cow became bogged there. It was only after considerable time and trouble that the animal was extricated. The white pine industry in the Hawke's Bay district is very brisk just now. The local mills last week railed to Foxton 168,000£ ccf that timber for the Sydney market, while trains are bringing from the bush 150,000 ft for shipment by the bar quen tine Brazil at Napier.
