PROBABLE YI-IT TO NEW ZEALAND. United Press Association. — By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright. Received Slay 12, 8.36 p.m. Sydney, May 12.— Mr W. C. Marter, Secretary of the Wellington Rugby Union, who ia on a visit to Sydney, made enquiries relative to the possibility of the English team visiting New Zealand. In an interview, he stated thab the exclusion of New Zealand was one strong argument iv favour of the formation of an Australasian Union, which would control international fixture?, the affiliated colonies pai ticipating equally. The feeling locally was that the Australian matches would be worthless as a tost of colonial football without the New Zealaudera, nnd thore was a strong j opinion that New South Wales might rpasonably ask New Zealand to vecotsider the matter. He denied that New Zealand w»s actuated by a dog-in4he* manager policy in declining to be represented. As a result of an interview, the Sec- [ retary of the New South Wale 3 Union still thinks there is a slight hope of the Englishmen paying New Zealand a brief vi-ifc. Mr Molineaux states he may be able to extend the trip one week, in which case New South Wales would probably forego two country and one test match, which -would enable the Englishmen to play matches in Auckland and Wellington, provided a guarantee of £250 was given; New Zea'and also paving all expenses There can be no definite settlement till the arrival of the Englishmen.
