AT the Austral Wheel Meeting at' Sydney, on Saturday, A. C. Forbes, formerly of Tariki, won the Intel national Five Mile Race by a length and a half from Beauchamp, Crisp third: time, lloiin 51 l-saecs. McDonald won the Mile in 2min 51 l-ssecs; Walne second, and' Barker third. The Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club Sports, have been postponed till Wednesday owing to bad weather. As a practical illustration of ihe good that tho League of New Zealand Whee'ineu is doing for ifcs members, it may be mentioned that the Executive of the League havo lately entered into an agreement with the Scottish Metropolitan Life Assurance Company, whereby members of tha League can now insure themselves against Accidents on the bicycle for the modest sum of ten sbil lings a year, for which in the event of cyclists being incapacitated from attending to butiuess of any kind a weekly compensation of £2 10s a week is granted.
