BOWLING.

The annual meeting of the Nonhern Bowliug Association was held at Wellington on Monday. The report stated that the Newmarket Club (Auckland) had left the Association, but the Patea, Waverley, and Potone Clubs brought thd total on the register up to 25, with a total members ship of nearly 1500. Captain Edwin was elected president ; Mr F. M. Spurdle (Wanganui), vice-president ; and Mr Mentiplay, hon. secretary. The bowling season was formally opened this (Thur-day) afternoon by the President of the Club (Mr B. Cock). There was a good attendance of members, and after the ceremony an enjoyable ma' eh between rinks selected by the President and Vice President was played. The Town Band contributed several selections, and afternoon tea was provided by the ladies.
