Winner of any hurdle race after declaration of weights to carry 101 b extra. Nomination 15s, acceptance 20s ; to start at 11.30 a.m. 2. Maiden Plate of £30, second horse to receive £5 from thd- stakes ; about one mile ; weight for age ; open to all horses that have not won a race ' of £5 (value). Entrance 255; to close on general entry night. 3. Waitara Cup Handicap of £120, second horse to receive £15, and third horse £5 from the stakes; about 1£ miles; winners of any handicap race over the value of £50 after the declaration of weights to carry 71bs penalty; of two or more 141 b extra. Nomination 20s, accept ance 60s. 4. Clifton Stakes of ±,25, second horse to receive £5 from the stakes ; five furlongs; 3yrs 83t, 4yrs, and aged 9st ; open to non-winners. Entrance, 20s ; to close on general entry night. 5. Welter Handicap of £35, second horse to receive £5 from the stakes ; about 7 furlongs; minimum weight Bst 71bs; winner of any hurdle or flit race after declaration of weights to carry 101 b extra. Nomination 15s, acceptance 15s. 6. Flying Handicap of £50, second horse to receive £5 from the stakes ; about three quarter mile ; wianer of any handicap race after declaration of weights to carry 71bs penalty; of two or more 141 b extra. Nomination 20s acceptance 255. 7. Selling Race of £20 ; three-quarter mile; Winner to become the property of the Club, and sold immediately after the race; 9st up; post entry. Entrance 15s. 8. Final Flutter of £25, second horse to receive £5 from the stakes; about half mile; catch weights. Entrance 20s. To close on general entry night DATES OF NOMINATIONS AND ACCEPTANCES. Nominations for all handicaps must be in the hands of the Secretary, at the Waitara Hotel, on Thursday, October 13th, not later than 9 p.m., accompanied with the name, age, pedigree, colours, and performances of horse. Telegraph office closes at 5 p.m. Handicaps appear on Saturday, October 22nd. Acceptances and general entries on Thursday, October 27th, except for Welter, . for which acceptances are due after the Clifton Stakes. RULES AND REGULATIONS, i Definition of a Back. — A hack means : a horse that has never won an advertised . race of- any description (Hack, Hunter, , and Potties' Races excepted), and is not nominated for any race other than Hack : race at time of start. i Five per cent, will be deducted from . the stakes towards defraying expenses. , Jockeys must be clean and well dressed, or will be liable to a fine of £5 for [ infringement of this rule. , All races to be run under the Rules of ■ Racing as adopted by the Metropolitan Club of New Zealand. ; • I All horses to be ridden in colours; same ) to accompany acceptances and general entries. \ No entry or nomination will be received except upon these condition?: — That all [ disputes, claims, and objections arising , shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or whom they may ( appoint, and their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final, except in cases I of appeal provided for by the Rules of .
