The fteiiKral Manager of the New Zealand Railway wrote in reply to a letter sent by tb>j Board asking that Domettstreet be opened across the railway liae, that the matter would be looked into. Seventeen applications asking to be placed on the roll were received, , but the Chairman ruled that the names could not be placed at this meeting, as the next triennial election would take place iv a fortnight's time. He had taken Mr Roy's opinion about the matter. Mr Hignefcfc moved that as the Chairman of the Board has stated that the opinion he had obtained was a private one, it cannoc be taken as evidence. Lapsed for want of a seconder. Mr Penrce moved, and Mr Gfoddard seconded, and it was resolved, That Mr Buckanan be appointed Returning Officer, and that he take the necessary steps for the triennial election as provided by the Act. Accounts amounting to £43 19s lOd were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned for 15 minute-". , At the ad j .urned meeting of the Board the minutes of the previous meetiug were read and confirmed, and the meeting closed. The biennial election of Commissioners to the Raleigh Town Board takes place on Wednesday, September 2lat. Nominations must; be in the hands of- the Returning officer by noon on Wednesday next, September 14th.

The Town Board have promised to put the work of repairing the road leading to the Recreation Reserve in iund immediately 'L here can bo no doubt as to the need of it, as the road was becoming . dangerous to tquestriana.
