* THE SITTING AT UAWIORA. [PI3K l'ltr.SS ASSOCIATION.] Tlawuka, December 10.— At tho Wesluyau District Conference E. E. Someryillo was unanimously recommended as a candidate for the Ministry. The llov. C. H. Lawn wan appointed repreneutative of tho district to tho onbiiiug Conference. Resolutions were passed " That in the opinion of thia meeting it i-^ desirable tint an organic union between the Boardstreot aud Cuba-street circuits should be eil'ueted at the next Couforsuco ; that a grant be mado from thu Homo Mission Fund, and two married Ministers be appointed to tho ci'cuit ; that iv consideration of tho vidc-yprcad evil of "ambling throughout tho colony it is highly inexpedient that any church or other oiqanisation should havo permission of Government to hold mlllvw, lotteries, or art unions, and this Synod respectfully dosires Government to consider tho advisability of revising the law which empowers tho Colonia Secretary to grant such permission, Th« lupoiL ot! tho Couimishion set up to o))i|iiiio i»U> tho slate of Maoii work was highly fcuti-Jactory.
