The Opunako Times says :— Mr Charlos Hickey received by the last mail from his eon photographs of Mr Gollan's horses, Ebor and Norton, now in England. Mr Hickey's son is seated on Ebor, and a very good likeness is produced of him. Mr P. Hickey has made a name for himself in England as a cross-country rider, all the sporting authorities speaking very highly on his skill and merit. His winning mounts at Home include — On Ebor : Salt Hill Handicap Hurdle Race, Great Staffordshire Steeplechase (410 soys), Shropshire County Steeplechase (250 BOvs),Chevel«y Handicap Hurdle Race (85 aova), Great Midland Handicap Steopleebase (405 soys) Trafford Park Handicap Steeplechase (150 soys), Tho Castle Handicap Steeplechase (283 soys); on Norton he won the Park Steeplechase (40 soys), and the Egham Steeplechase (40 soys) ; on Tribune ho won the ChepBtow Hurdlo Race ; ou Gaillardia, the Railway Handicap ; and the Western Jlurdle Race on Grudon.
Patrick has informed the Wellington Athletic Club that he cannot go to Sydney for the Championship meeting as he went out of training on learning that he was not chosen in the New Zealand team.
