Waitara Cup Handicap, of £120 ; second horse t* receive £15, and third horse £5 from the stakes ; abant 1^ miles ; winners of any handicap race over the valuo of £50 after declaration of weights, to carry 71bs penalty. Nominations, 30a ; accep tances, 70s. 4. Clifton Stakes, of £25 ; second horae so receive £5 from the shakes ; 5 furlongs ; 3yrs, Bst, 4yrs and aged, 9sfc ; open to non-winners. Entrance, 20s; to olose on general entry night. 5. Welter Handicap, of £35 ; second horse to receive £5 from the stakes ; about seven furlongs ; minimum weights, Bst 71hs ; weights declared immediately after Cap is run. DATE OF NOMINATIONS AND ACCEPTANCES. Nominations for all handicaps musk be in the hands of the Secretary at the Waitara Hotel on Wednesday, October 1 13 th not later than 9 p.m., accompanied with the name, *ge, pedigree, colors and performances of horse. Telegraph office closes at 5 p.m. Handicaps appear on Thursday, ©ctober^ 21st. . I Acceptances and general entries on VTedneiday, Ostober 27th, except for Welter, which acceptances are due after the Clifton Stakes. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Definition of a Hack. — A hack means a horso that has never won an advertised race of any description (Hack, Hunter and Ponies" Races exceptpd), and is not nominated for any race other than hack race at time of start. Five per cent. w»ll bo deducted from the Btakes towards defraying expenses. Jockeys must be clean and well dressed, or will be liable to a fine of £5 for infringement of this rule. j All races to be run under the Rules of j Racing, as adopted by the Metropolitan j Club of New Zealand. All horses to be ridden in colors ; same to accompany Acceptances and General Entries. No entry or nomination will be re ceived except upon thesa conditions : tkat all disputes, claims, and objections arising phall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or whom chey may appoint, tnd their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final, except in cases of appeal provided for by the Rules of Racing. Horses walking over will only receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. The necessary amount in cash must accompany all Nominations and Acceptances.
