[PER PBES3 ASaCOIAIIOW.I Wakapuaka, September 13.— A sharp shock of earthquake was felt hero at eight o clock this morning. It was of short duration, and appeared to come from the south-east. It was precedid by a loud rumbling noise like heaTy aarf breaking on the shore. Wellington, September 13.— A alight shock of earthquake was felt at eight o'clock.

A rather prolonged earthquaks was fait at Taupo at about 4 45 p.m. on Thursday last, preceded and followed by lighter ones.
