MORE DEMANDS OF THE LABOUR CONGRESS. [per fkess association.] LoNDON,September 10. — A ballot amongst tho South Wales miners resulted in a majority of 9500 against the recommendation made by the miners' representatives that work should bo stopped next week, consequently the employers are proposing to restrict the output of coal. The Trades Union Congress adopted resolutions in favor of the formation of a general federation of trades, and Government compensation to the relatives of civil servants who die in the service. The Congress also adopted resolutions in favor of the abolition of all overtime, demanding that workmen who sit on juries be paid, an amendment of the Poor Law removing disabilities following npon the acceptance of temporary relief, the reduction of the hours of labour of domestic servants under 18 years of age to seventy hours per week, and the prohibition of child labour under 15 year and night work under 18 years of age. London, September 12. — The Trades Congress passed a resolution to appoint a deputation to wait upon Lord Salisbury to urge the right of combination amongst Government employees, similarly to other workmen, and to greatly extend the scope of a labor department.
