At the Haymarkct on Saturday pigs wore in good demand; small pigs made 6s 6d ; medium stores, 10s to 15a 6d. Horses sold at 37s 6d and 52s 6d each. A quantity of seed potatoes made 3a to 4a per cwt. At the mart fowla made la to Is 8d each ; potatoes, 3a to 4s 6d per cwt; bacon, Id to 3d; tea, Is 6d per lb; soap, 5s 6d per box. A quantity of furniture, clothing, and sundries made low prices. Fruit. — At a sale on Tuesday, oranges made lljd to Is per dozen; apples, 5s 6d to I 7s per case.

Cattle. — At Stratford on Tuesday I held a clearing sale of Mr F. W. Gough'a dairy stock. There was a good attendance of buyers, and, considering the state of the cows, a good number of which were backward, and all in low condition, very satisfactory prices were realised. Springers made 80.5t0125a; late calvers, 50a to 85s; bull, 655. At Stony River on Wednesday the yaids were crowded with cattle, and the sale was tho best I have had for months, and although there was not any startling advance in prices, still there was a steady improvement for all youug cattle, nearly all of which sold at the hammer, weaners made 9a to 14s ; good calves, 16s to 20s 6d ; yearlings, 20s to 255 ; springing cows, £2 10s to £5 7s 6d ; store cows. 20a to 28s. A choice line of springing heifereifrom Mr Kavanagh made £4 2s 6d to £4 12a 6d. A quantity of furniture and sundries from the Petone Farm made good prices. On Thursday, at Kent Road, Mr Chatterton's clearing sale was numerously attended. Farm implements, tools, and the trap horse sold at very satisfactory rates, but the cowa did not sell as well as they should have done, j springers made £3 5s to £4 12s 6d ; cows in milk, £1 to £6, according to age and quality.
