Nominations for all handicaps must be in the hands of the Secretary at the Waitara Hotel on Wednesday, October 13th not later than 9 p.m., accompanied with the name, ige, pedigree, colors and -performances of horse. Telegraph office closes at 5 p.m. Handicaps appear on Thursday ,iGctober 21st. Acceptance* and general entries on Wedneiday, October 27th, except for Welter, which eccaptances are due after the Clifton Stakes. ♦ — — RULES AND REGULATIONS. Definition of a Hack.— A back means a horso that has never won an advertised race of any description (Hack, .Hunter and Ponies' Races excepted), „and is not nominated for any race other than hack raca at time of start. Five per cent, will be deducted from the stakes towards defraying expensss. i Jockeys must be clean and well dressed, or will be liable to a fine of £5 for infringement of Ibis rule. All races to be run under the Rules of Racing, a3 adopted by the Metropolitan Club of New Zealand. All howes to bo ridden in colors ; ■arae to accompany Acceptances and General Entries. No entry .or nomination will be re ceived except upon these conditions : that all disputes, claims, and objections arising shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or whom they may appoint,' «>nd their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final, except in cases of appeal provided for by tho Eules of Racing. Horses walking over will only receive 60 per cent, of the stakes.
