Messes Nolan, Tonks & Co. report: — Ai Opunake, on 23rd inst., we had a good entry of cattle with good competition. We cleared every pen with one exception, Our usual monthly sale was held at Manaliion 25 th inst. More stock than advertised came forward. There was again keen enquiry for sheep and young cattle, all of whicj were disposed of. ' During the week we have placed several lines of ewes in lamb. Lambs and young cattle with still an unsatisfied enquiry. Wo quote : — At Opunake— Weaners 18s to 22s 6d, yearlings 33s 6d to 375, yearlings to 18 months steers 39s to 455, 2 to 2} year steers 58s to 625, store cows 45s to 47s 6d, springers 75s to 90s, cows and calves 70s. 1 At Manaia — Weaners 25s 6d, yearlings 295, yearling to 18 months steers 42s to 455, fat cows 71s to 75b 6d, springers 72s 6d, 2J-year steers 71s, woolly lambs 7s 9d, 4 and 6 tooth ewes 10s.
