HOROWHENUA COMMISSION.
OPENING PROCEEDINGS. [per press association.] Levin, March 6. — Tho Horowhenna Commission opened here at 11, and sat for two hours, during which preliminaries were arranged as to the order of proceedings, &c.
Sir W. Buller and Messrs Monson end Baldwin appeared on behalf of the various natives interested,- and M- Alex. McDonald (instructed by the Government) watched the proceedings on behalf of theMuanwoko tribe, who were not otherwise represented. The Commission adjonrned'until Tuesday morning next, when Major Kemp's evidence will be taken. The Commibsion will sit continuously from that date.
