FRENCH PRESIDENT MAKING HIMSELF AGREEABLE. Paris, March 6. President Paure met the Emperor of Austria at Mentone, and had an interview with him of a friendly character RUSSIAN PACIFIC SQUADRON. St Petersburg, March 6. Russia has fixed her Pacific squadron at seven first-class cruisers, including the Rurik, two-second-class, and five gupboats, and has increased their armaments. CANADIAN REPRESENTATIVES TO CABLE CONFERENCE. Ottawa, March 6. The Hon. MacKenzie Bowe 1 !, Premier, and the Hon. Sandford Fleming, of the Canadian Pacific Railway Company, will be the Canadian representative to the Imperial Cable Conference. THE COMING FAVOURITE.
