' At the Haymarket on Saturday small store pigs made 12s 6d, slips fis to 8s Cd. A few hacks changed hands at prices from £2 7s 6d to £10. At the mart fowls realised Is 4d to Is lOd, ducks Is 4d to Is sd, potatoes 4s Cd per cwt, onions fd to ljd lb, bacon 2d to 4{d, hams 3d to 6|d. A quantity of fruit, furniture and Btmdries sold at rather low rates. Fruit. —At the sale on Thursday the following prices realised. Apples 3s to 4s per case, bananas ljd to ljd per lb, plums 2a Cd to 4s, peaches 2s 6d to 4s, pears 3s ,to ss, damsons 3s, tomatoes Is to 2a, oranges 3s to 6s, Cape gooseberries, 5a to 6s, grapes 9Jd lb. Cattle.—At Stony River on Tuesday there was rather a small muster and attendance. Bidding was flat, all young cattle being hard to quit, and several line 3of calves were sent home. Calves made 8s 6d to 16s, the last being for a pen of very nice quality, yearlings 23s to 295, Btore cows 18s to 47s 6d, 12 to 15 months mixed SJGs, good springing heifers 80s. Sheep—At Waiwakaiho on Thursday I held my Annual Sheep Fair, when about 8000 head were penned. There was a good attendance and the sale was most successful, there being active bidding throughout. Nearly every line sold at the hammer at very satisfactory prices. A good pen of store wethers, and one or two of ewes beingabout the only lots which failed to reach vendors reserves. Two-tooth ewes made 7s 6d to Bd, 2to 4 tooth ewes 7b 4d, 4 to 6 tooth Cs 6d to 7s 2d, fresh full-mouth 4s 8d to 6s, culls Is 9d to 3s 9d, wethers 2 to 4 tooth 6s lOd to 7s 9d, woolly lambs 4s to 6s 6d, shorn lambs 3s 3d to 48 7d, culls 9d to 2s, fat ewes 7s 7d to 8s lid, rams 12a 6d to 255.
