Auckland, ' Nov. 30.— P -bert Darrah, a settler at Hikutaia, was coav ; cted of roanslaughter. He set a loaded gun for a burglar 'with fatal result. He was senteji<;ed to two years' hard labor. Jnd<je Conolly said he looked on tho crime as very 1 nearly approaching murder, and hoped the sentence would be a warning to others not to set traps to take away human life or injure people. ;
