BUBBLE WORK AT BREAKWATER.
TENDER ACCEPTED. The Harbor Board on Tuesday went into committee to opou tenders for quarrying and putting stone over the seaward face of the mole. After a long discussion in committee, the Board rsBamed. Mr Sh«xbbb moved, and Mr Davieb Mconded, That tha tender of Mr B. Poole, of Feilding, at 2s 3d per cnbic yards, be accepted. Ms Smith laid before the motion was pnt he desired to have it placed on record that he was against the acceptance of a tender until it was shown what it was intended to do with the prison labor. He contended that onca this labor was lost it would not be regained. Mr Ward also explained that it was His reason for voting against the tender acceptance. The motion was then pat and carried, Messrs Smith, Ward, and Sarten voting against the motion.
