MR NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY AUCTION AND PRODUCE REPORT. At the Haymarket on Saturday pigs were , sold at about late rates. Slips making 2s Gd to os 6d ; hacks made 50s to 120s ; 1 trap horse, £7. At the mart fowls 1b to Is 6d ; ducks, Is 5d to Is 8d ; potatoes, 2s to 3s ; onions, Jd to Id ; wheat, 4s ; barley, 3s ; cheese, 4d ; bacon, oil ; ham 3, Cd. Clothing and sundries made rather kw rates. Fruit. — During the week Island fruit baa been pretty plentiful. Apples are hardening in value. I quote : Tahiti oranges, Bsd per dozen ; Tongan oranges, 3s to 4s 6d per case ; eating apples, Gs ; Nelson russets, 7s ; lemons, 9id per dozen. Cattle. — At Rahotu on Wednesday there was a email muster, and the sale was a very quiet one, very little being done at the Hammer. Calves made 14 to 22s ; fatcows, 695 ; store cows. 51s ; old ewes, 2b 3d* -
