WHEREAS by section 143 of " The< Public Works Act, 1894 " (hereinafter termed "tho said Acd"), it is provided ,ihat no toll shall be payable unless the scale of folh-is publicly notified for fourteen days before becoming first payable : And whereas by section 105 of the said Act it is, inter alia, enacted " that' "all powers, rights, _ duties, and liabilities , thereby vested in ' and imposed upon a Road Board, in the case of a Government road shall be vested in tod imposed upon the Governor : And whereas by Order in Council dated tho twenty-third day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, that portion of ,the road across theMokau Ferry, with approaches thereto, was declared a Government road, and it, is expedient to fix the scale of tolls to bo ollected at the said ferry : c Now, -therefore, His Excollency th Governor of the Colony of New Zaaland' by his duly-appointed Deputy, Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Juatico, in pursuance of tbe herein-before recited authority, doth hereby authoriso and fix the charges named in the Schedule hereto as the tolls to be levied on theMokau Ferry in the several cases andtetween tho hours specified in the said Schedule. j SCHEDULE. | Between 6 o'clock a.m. and 10 o'clock p.m. B. d.
