ENGLISH ELEVEN IN AUSTRALIA. ENGLAND V. AUSTRALIA. [per press association.] Melbourne, January 3.— This morning is again hot and dusty, but little interest is being taken in the match which is a forgone conclusion, though the Australians themselves are persisting against hope. Admission is free to-day with the exception of the stand. The takings for the four days totalled £2878 or £51 more than in the Sydney match. The Englishmen are much incensed at Phillips for not giving Turner out for obstructing the field yesterday. The latter apparently accidentally stopped a shot by Lockwood at the wicket from mid off when getting back to crease. A reconciliation between Moses and Blackbam was effected at luncheon yesterday, and the former is likely to play in the remaining matches. The match was renewed this morning, wken the Englishmen won by 94 runs. Ta-morrow Mr Newton King will hold a clearing sale of furniture at Fitzroy on account of W. H.
