MissM. Antiqde prides herself upon her jaunty juvenile appearance, and does her best to live up to her appearance. Sometimes she gets hard knoc s from friends ; but it was reserved for her pet pupil to crush, her completely. A party of leading residents (they are nil leading residents in Schnapperville) were visiting the school. Miss Antique was showing off her fourth class girls in a grammer lesson. The word ■ youthful ' \vas parsed. Compare the adjective youthful. The pet girl answered — Youthful is one of those adjectives which do not admit of comparison.
How Clever ! murmured a most leading resident. Dosen't admit; of comparison ! You are not thinking, Maudie. Who is the more youthful — you or I ? Then the innocent maid replied — Please, Mis 3 Antique, you are not youthful.
