LARGE FIRE IN AUCKLAND.
». . FIRE AT MOUNT EDEN ROAD. [per pbess association.] Auckland, January 1. — A fire took place on Monday on the Mount Eden Road destroying the premises occupied by Mr Griffin, fancy goods dealer, two shops and cottage, owned by Mr Harris, occupied by the London Dairy Co., and shop, owned by Mr Anderson, occupied by Johnston grocer. Mr Harris i 3 insured in the Royal for '£4oo; Cbishohn, occupant of the dairy premises, furniture, £100 in New Zealand ; Anderson's shop, £200 in the Imperial ; Johnston's stock, £100 in the Commercial : Griffin's stock, is insured in the North German. Total loss in each case.
