INGLEWOOD.

[from our own correspondent.] DnccMUER 13. — A start was made last . Sunday to collect subscriptions for building a new Catholic Church at luglovrood,. whenthe sum of £209 was subscribed in a few minutes. This is a good beginning, •md more especially when it is considered* that there are no rich persons connected with that church in the district. I am sure it will not be very long before a good handsome church will be erected in Inglewood, and there is no doubt that it is much wanted, there not being half room, for the congregation in the present one. . The new Wesleyan Church is nearcompletion, and Messrs Vickers smdj Stevens' new buildings are being rapidlyput up. The ordinary monthly meeting of theIngfewood Domain Board was held in the Institute on December 10- Present : Messrs H. Brown (chairman^, Carstens, Clough, McKenzie, and Tarplee 1 . There was no business to transact. Tbo monthly meeting of the Town Board wns heid in the same building. Lieut Tyer and the aitffretary, MrTuck, attended the meeting' *'«id stated that enquiries respecting a" fire-beH had been made by writing, bufc that no answer had as yet been received. The bye-laws were adopted, and are to ha printed. Mr Franklyn attended th^ meeting, and pointed out the usefulness of having a passenger carriage attached to the goods trains on Fridays and Tuesdays at 11 a.m. ; that it would be a great convenience to the travelling public The Clerk was instructed to write to the traffic manager on the subject.
